Welcome to my dog party treats... come on in the kitchen and have a "sniff" around!


If you like baking......and you love your dog, why not make your own dog party treats and cookies and check out our doggie kitchen recipe book. I'm sure you'll be able to find some grrreat, quick and easy recipes that your pooch will love.

Use your imagination and have fun by making your own shaped biscuits and snacks. Use ordinary cookie biscuit cutters to make the shapes or maybe buy a bone shaped cutter or just flatten the dough into a shape.

Why not get the kids to help too, they'll enjoy messing up the kitchen for their pet pooch.....

For starters, why not try some of these simple Dog Cookies and Dog Party Treats...Woofy Cookies, Beefy Bone Triangles, Postman's Ankles, Cool Canine Cookies, Doggone It Snax, Fidos Chicky Chips, ChickyBits, Beefy Bits, Ice-Cool Tail Wagglers, Frostie Paws Ice-Cream....





Woofy Cookies

Ingredients: 3 cups whole wheat flour 3 cups uncooked oatmeal 1/2 cup wheat germ 5 tablespoons margarine 1/4 cup plain molasses 1 cup evaporated milk 1 cup water

Preheat oven to 300°F/150C - Gas Mark 2 Lightly oil a cookie sheet.

Method: In large bowl, combine flour, oatmeal and wheat germ. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Place in the refrigerator to chill for about 30 minutes. Carefully roll out the dough. Cut out your cookie shapes and place on the oiled baking sheet. Bake in the oven for about one hour. Leave to cool. Store your dog party treats in airtight container.





Postman's Ankle Cookies

Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour 1/2 cup powdered dry milk 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. brown sugar or honey 6 tbs. meat or bacon drippings, not melted or soft! 1 egg, slightly beaten 1/2 cup Ice water

Preheat oven to 350F/175C - Gas Mark 4 Lightly oil a cookie sheet.

Method: Combine flour, dry milk, garlic powder and sugar. Cut in meat drippings until mixture resembles corn meal. Mix in the egg and add enough water so that mixture forms a ball. Carefully, roll out the dough to about 1/2" thick. Using a cardboard template or free hand cut out a foot and ankle shape. Prick each cookie all over with a fork and bake 25-30 minutes. Remove from tray and cool on rack. Store your dog party treats in airtight container.





Doggone It Snax

Ingredients: 3 1/2oz jar liver or beef baby food 1/3 cup Wheat germ 2/3 cup Non-fat dry milk

Preheat oven to 350F/175C - Gas Mark 4 Lightly oil a cookie sheet.

Method: Mix all ingredients well. Drop a tablespoon's size 'lump' onto the greased baking sheet. Allow room between for the mixture to spread. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Remove from tray and cool on rack. Store your dog party treats in an airtight container, in the refrigerator.





ChickyBits

Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour 1 1/2 cups rye flour 1 1/2 cups brown rice flour 1 cup wheat germ 1 teaspoon dried kelp or alfalfa 1 teaspoon garlic powder 4 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 1/2 cups chicken broth 1 pound ground chicken 1 to 2 tablespoons brewer’s yeast (for coating)

Preheat oven to 350F/175C - Gas Mark 4 Lightly oil a cookie sheet.

Method: In a large bowl, combine the first six dry ingredients then slowly add the oil, broth and chicken, mix well. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough to a thickness of 1/8 inch, then place it on a greased baking sheet. Bake until golden brown. Leave to cool, then break into bite-sized pieces and place in a bag, together with the brewer's yeast and gently shake them until coated. Store your dog party treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator.





Ice-Cool Tail Wagglers

Ingredients: 4 ounces of water 8 oz of Strawberry yogurt 1 banana

Method: Using a blender mix the ingredients until smooth. Pour the mix into a variety of shaped holders....novelty ice-cube trays, small muffin cakes, small paper cups (cut in half) or even purchase special bone shaped trays. Put in the freezer and freeze.

Note: Remove the paper cups before giving the dogs your dog party treats...or they might eat the cups as well! If you use muffin tins, try spraying them with a nonstick cooking spray first.





Beefy Bone Triangles

Ingredients: 3 eggs 3 tablespoons soy flour 3 tablespoons wheat germ 3 tablespoons nonfat dry milk powder 3 beef stock cubes dissolved in 6 tablespoons of hot water 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 3 cups whole wheat flour

Preheat oven to 350F/175C - Gas Mark 4 Lightly oil a cookie sheet.

Method: Beat eggs lightly together in large mixing bowl. Stir in the soy flour, wheat germ, dry milk, beef stock cubes and add the Worcestershire Sauce. Add the flour and work into a stiff, crumbly dough. Divide dough into 24 pieces. Shape each piece roughly into a 3-inch rectangle (1/2-inch thick). Bake for approx 25 minute, then turn biscuits over with a spatula and bake for another 25 minutes.

Leave to cool on wire rack. Store your dog party treats in an airtight container.





Cool Canine Cookies

Ingredients: 1/2 cup dry milk powder 1 egg, well beaten 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar 1/2 cup water 6 tablespoons beef broth Baby food meat

Preheat oven to 350F/175C - Gas Mark 4 Lightly oil a cookie sheet.

Method: Using a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients. Turn out onto a floured board and roll out using extra flour if necessary. Cut into various shapes cookie cutters or a sharp knife. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Leave to cool. (These cookies should be hard.)





Fido's Chicky Chips

Ingredients: 2 cooked (boiled) chicken breasts 1 clove garlic 1/2 cup chicken broth 1 cup whole wheat flour 1/2 cup cornmeal

Preheat oven to 350F/175C - Gas Mark 4 Lightly oil a cookie sheet.

Method: Puree chicken and garlic in a food processor or blender. Add the chicken broth. Transfer mixture to bowl and stir in remaining ingredients until it's not sticky anymore. Cut dough in half and shape each into a sausage shaped roll. Wrap in a 'plastic wrap' and chill thoroughly. Slice into thin chips and spread out on lightly greased baking sheet and bake for 25-40 minutes, turning halfway through baking time. Chips will harden as they cool. Store your dog party treats in airtight containers.





Peanut Butter Bones

Ingredients: 1 packet dry yeast 1/2 cup lukewarm water 1 cup mashed potatoes 1 cup milk 1/4 cup molasses 1/2 cup chicken stock 1 cup chunky peanut butter 1 cup whole wheat flour 1/2 cup rye flour 1/2 cup rice flour 1 egg 2 cups all-purpose white flour

Preheat oven to 325 ° F/165 ° C - Gas Mark 3

Method: Dissolve the yeast in water in a large bowl, leave to one side. Using a large saucepan mix together the potatoes, milk, molasses, stock and peanut butter. Bring to the boil, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature the add yeast mixture. Gradually blend in the egg, wheat, rye, and rice flours. Add enough white flour to form a stiff dough. Transfer to a floured surface and knead until smooth (about 3-5 minutes). Shape the dough into a ball and roll to 1/2-inch (12 mm) thick. Using cookie cutters, cut out biscuits. Place on ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them about 1/4-inch (6 mm) apart. Gather up the scraps, roll out again, and cut additional biscuits. Bake for 45 minutes. Leave to cool overnight. They should have the consistency of pizza crusts and are a great dog party treats! You should be able to make several dozen 'bones' from this mix.





Frosty Paws Ice Cream

Ingredients: 32 ounces vanilla yogurt 1 mashed banana or one large jar of baby fruit 2 tablespoons peanut butter 2 tablespoons honey

Method: Blend all the ingredients together and freeze in suitable shapes, ice cube trays, popsicle makers. Remove your dog party treats from freezer a short time before serving.





Bugs on the Move

Ingredients: Milk Bones (large and small) Peanut Butter Raisins

Method: Spread the milkbones liberally with the peanut butter and dot with the raisins...Voila! you have 'Bugs on the Move'
