Live your dream and build a profitable website!
.....because we did! Here's our amazing story... Hi, my name's Jake, that's me over there and a "big woof" to all my doggie friends. My "Mom & Dad" came up with the idea for this site dedicated to dog birthday parties, while playing balloon with me one day. Great idea I thought, that means parties and....Fooood!! Straight away, I offered my services to be CEO (short for Chief Eating Officer!). I decided (as CEO) that my "Mom & Dad" would have to tackle all the site-building work, while I contributed the best bit... doggie inspiration for this site! Now, over to Shirley (my "Mom") to tell you the rest of our "live your dream" success story... … if so, click here or read how (and why) we did it below… This is our "Live Your Dream" Story... Up until recently, as a family, we have lived a fairly normal life. I was working as an office administrator and my husband Martyn had his own small company. We have always wanted to work together and talked about it many times over the years, but there never seemed to be the right opportunity to “make-it-happen”. This all changed a while ago, when Martyn was diagnosed with the Big-C... Yup, he found out that he had two forms of cancer and immediately went to have them dealt with. My reaction at the time, could only be described as stunned, but thankfully in his typical style, he returned to work only four days later, although the treatment took considerably longer... like five years longer! As you can imagine, our conversations after this centered around “the future”... with pretty boring, but necessary chats about insurances, pensions, wills, etc. Thankfully, we are a very close family and our relationship strengthened, as we resolved to forge forwards in life together. We decided firstly to change our lifestyle, so that we could spend more time with each other... I mean, putting it bluntly, at that time we had no idea how long there was left! Hard decisions were made including selling the business, taking our first rest for umpteen years and spend the time looking for a future work project that we could both be involved with. This proved to be a trickier problem to solve than we first imagined, with our different skillsets and experience, plus totally different work temperaments. This led to some fairly strongly expressed... shall we say “differences in opinion”. Amazingly, our resolve didn’t change, we felt that there just HAD to be a working future that both of us could agree on. We even looked at working together for another employer, rather than for ourselves…So the trips to job agencies flaunting CV’s became a part of our lives for a short time... and guess what, this turned up precisely zero opportunities too! This was when our luck started to change! Our "Live Your Dream" efforts start to work... By now, we had resorted to searching long and hard on the internet for inspiration and it turned out that Lady Luck was looking down on us favorably, because Martyn chanced upon a site that made many claims to help you live your dream... but also sounded genuine and helpful!
