How about a Scooby Doo party (or Scrappy Doo if it's a pup!)

Get ready for a "spooky-blast" with our Scooby Doo party. You and your furry friend will enjoy organizing this dog birthday party theme!

A Scooby Doo dog party theme is no great mystery. Get out the Scooby Snax so you and your doggie friends can enjoy this party.

Imagine your house full of budding Scooby Doo’s (and their owners), all raring to go solve the mysteries you have lined up for them.

Read on for details on this fun dog birthday party...

* Scooby Doo Party Invitations

How about sending a party invitation to your doggie friends written on the reverse of a Scooby Doo paper party plate. Write something like...

You are invited to join (party dog’s name) on (date and time)
Jump on board the Mystery Machine and help solve the clues.
Call the “Shack” (Phone No) to join in the fun.

Cut out a Mystery Machine from green card, draw in the van details. The party information can be written on the reverse.

Make some spooky Scooby Doo party invitations using black or white ghostly balloons. Blow up the balloon and write the party details on it then deflate it. Send to your guest with a note that says, “There’s a mystery that needs to be solved... blow up the balloon to get the first clue”.

* Scooby Doo Party Decorations

At the entrance to the Scooby Doo mystery party put up some home-made signs pointing the way to the haunted castle. Hang green and black streamers in the doorway for a great spooky effect.

Scooby, Scrappy and Shaggy are always running from spooks and ghosts, so why not add some balloon ghosts to your dog birthday party decorations. Inflate the balloons, cover with white sheeting, making a small hole in the centre to push the string through. Hang them from the ceiling and the balloons and sheeting will move with the wind and look like ghost floating around. Hang green and black streamers and other decorations such as bats, owls and even spider webs (angel hair) from the ceiling.

Why not make a “Mystery Machine” from an old appliance box. Great for doggie guest party photos.

Decorate the party table with a Scooby Doo tablecloth, plates, beakers and napkins. Make a Scooby Doo table centrepiece using (helium filled) black and white balloons. Then use angel hair again, plus glitter to make the table will look as though covered in spider-webs and ghostly dust. Why not give the table a creepy feel by dropping a few plastic spiders and bugs around. Also decorate the doggie guest drinking bowls with Scooby stickers. For the younger doggie owners why not have some bone shaped beakers to their drinks.

* Scooby Doo Party Food

Scooby and Shaggy are always hungry and on the lookout for food, just like most other dogs. So, make sure there are plenty of Scooby Snacks and party treats for your adventurers to eat while seeking out ghouls and ghosts.

I’m sure that your doggie owners will love to snack on some kookie chews and K9 candy treats, as much as the doggie guests like searching for their lost goodies.

What better way to end a party than with all the fun of a Scooby Doo pull string Piñata filled with doggie treats. Hang in the middle of the room and let the doggie guests pull at the strings until the Piñata breaks and scatters the goodie around. It is a good idea to have extra goodies handy, as some doggie guest may not get to the treats from the Piñata.

* At the end of the party...

Party favors have become a great “must have” finale to a birthday party. So why break with tradition at your Scooby Doo party. Send your guest’s home with a Scooby Doo treasure chest filled with doggie treats... ... It's a great way to say thanks!

If you're looking for fun dog party game ideas? Why not check out our doggy party games section for inspiration. Dog party games will be very active and boisterous and must be played with caution and care. However, you can be guaranteed that whichever type of game is played, the doggie owners will be in stitches... so have your camera handy!

One brilliant themed party game that is ideal for a Scooby Doo dog party, would be to organize a set of clues that take the dog owners (and their dogs) around your home & yard, solving clues as they go, with a prize for the winner. The clues could be a combination of written clues for the owners and smell trails for the dogs, using treats all the way!
